How Our Estimates Work

A plain-English explanation of the formulas, assumptions, and limits behind the free calculators on this site.

Educational estimates, not financial advice

Every calculator on this site uses the numbers you enter, plus standard small-business planning formulas, to produce an estimate. Estimates are useful for planning conversations, budgeting, and goal setting. They are not quotes, not forecasts, and not guarantees of website traffic, leads, sales, revenue, profit, or return on investment. Always consult qualified professionals before making major legal, tax, accounting, investment, or financial decisions.

Website ROI Calculator

Combines your build cost, monthly software/maintenance, traffic, visitor-to-lead conversion rate, lead-to-sale close rate, average customer value, profit margin, and optional retention value. From those, it estimates first-year cost, monthly leads and customers, monthly profit, leads/sales required to break even, monthly ROI percentage, and an estimated payback window.

Key formula (simplified): profit per customer = average sale × profit margin. Profit per lead = profit per customer × close rate. Sales to break even = first-year cost ÷ profit per customer. Leads to break even = first-year cost ÷ profit per lead.

Website Cost Estimator

Maps page count, design level, feature selections (booking, checkout, CRM, membership, etc.), and timeline to a planning range commonly used by independent designers and small agencies. The output is a range, not a quote. A 24-hour rush timeline applies a multiplier because rush work typically commands a premium.

Lead Value Calculator

Value per lead = (average sale × profit margin × close rate) + (retention value × margin × close rate). This gives you a defensible cost-per-lead ceiling for ads, SEO, and content. Real lead value depends on follow-up speed, lead quality, and offer strength — your numbers will vary.

Conversion Rate Calculator

Uses the visitor, lead, and sales numbers you enter to compute visitor-to-lead conversion, lead-to-sale conversion, revenue per visitor, and revenue per lead. Suggestions are pattern-based: if a step looks low compared to common small-business ranges, the tool flags the most likely cause.

Break-Even Website Calculator

Combines one-time build cost, monthly maintenance, marketing spend, average sale, margin, and close rate. It then divides the total cost over your chosen payback window to estimate the monthly profit, sales, and leads required to recover the investment.

Website Readiness Quiz

Scores your site on 12 essentials: clear offer, contact form, booking, CRM, email follow-up, SMS follow-up, payment, analytics, SEO basics, reviews, mobile, and speed. Score = items in place ÷ 12, expressed as a percentage. The score is a directional indicator, not a guarantee of conversion.
